Fig wasps have yet to be reared from a number of fig
tree species in Namibia. Consequently the
following checklist is far from complete. An idea of the fig wasp species potentially
associated with the fig tree species that are present in Namibia may be obtained from the
checklist of Afrotropical fig wasps. Fig wasp species recorded
from these host trees elsewhere in Africa are also likely to be present in Namibia,
although the total fig wasp species assemblage associated with a particular host tree is
not always complete throughout the range of the host.
