Distribution

Habitat

In lowland sand forest and coastal bushland.

Biological form

tree up to 30 m tall, hemi-epiphytic

Leaves

shape & colour

often subopposite, oblanceolate to subovate, (sub)coriaceous, apex obtuse, base obtuse, both surface glabrous

 

size

0.5-5 x 0.3-2 cm

 

lateral veins

5-8 pairs, midrib not reaching the apex of the lamina

 

petiole

0.2-0.8 cm long, glabrous (leafy twigs with whitish hairs)

Stipules

0.2-0.5 cm long, puberulous, caducous

position

in pairs in the leaf axils or just below the leaves

 

shape

globose, Æ 0.5 cm (fresh), minutely puberulous

 

peduncle

none or 0.2-0.5 mm long, minutely puberulous
