Distribution

Distribution_of_Ficus_ovata

Senegal to southern Ethiopia and Kenya, south to northern Angola and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.

Biology

Pollinator: Courtella hamifera hamifera Kieffer (West Africa); Courtella hamifera modesta (Wiebes) (East Africa).

Non-pollinators: Seres armipes Waterston, Philotrypesis africana Grandi & Philosycus monstruosus (Grandi).

Habitat

Savanna woodland, forest edges, riverine forest and secondary forest, up to an altitude of 2100m. Often planted.
